MM stands for Missing Manual, which is a series of these great books written as tech product manuals that SHOULD have been. Here are some examples:
Your iPhone – The Missing Manual
Key tip: Make sure you look at your family at least once a week.
iOS Catalina – the Missing Manual (the Salad Dressing Edition)
Key tip: That expensive Mac on your desk, you should get it out and play with it. It does cool things like your iPad and iPhone.
Windows 10 – The Missing Manual
Key tip: Written in 2019, pre pandemic, proof that in the tech world, things get out of date REALLY QUICKLY. The dog on that cover is not wearing a mask.
WordPress – The Missing Manual
Key tip: You know more than you think you do if you started playing in WordPress 16 years ago. Own it, and refer back if you need confidence.
CSS – The Missing Manual
Key tip: I think this one’s next for me. My CSS book is from around 1999, I think. Confirmed yes. Here’s a newer edition. It’s an achievement to boost your Kindle price to over $40 for a book. Maybe the tech hasn’t changed that much…unlike Windows 10.
I meander. My point is that life is totally missing a manual. While I can’t coin Missing Manual, I can make a category of MM, and for a few posts after that, I can link back to this so everybody knows I’m not missing a & between M and M. No chocolate here…yet.
